Going Green
The OPHA and its Constituent Societies are working hard to implement green initiatives at the 2009 conference.
Again this year, the
Preliminary Program and Registration Brochure will be available and distributed only as an electronic file, thus substantially reducing
our use of print. The final program book that will be distributed in hard copy at the conference, will be a much smaller document
containing fewer pages with only the most relevant information. Additional information will be provided on a USB key only.
In addition, the
planning committee is working with the Marriott Hotel staff to ensure food and beverage is served in environmentally responsible
materials, and products are recycled and/or reused as much as possible.
The Planning Committee would also like to encourage
delegates to consider reducing the environmental impact of their travel to and from the conference by taking advantage of the
discounted VIA rail fares, carpooling, using the GO Train, and purchasing carbon offsets.
